  • Stephen Mackey of “Team Impact”—a group that encourages kids to work hard and believe in themselves through displays of strength—lifts Pin Oak Middle School students Madeline Ashcroft and Noor Malik using a makeshift barbell. During their shows, Mackey and his team of 19 use their strength to rip phone books in half, break wooden bats over their knees and bend iron rods into neat little ties.<br />
