Samiya Jene’e Savannah gets a hug from Sharpstown principal Robert Gasparello during graduation ceremonies at Delmar Fieldhouse, August 17, 2013. Savannah completed her course work at Sharpstown High School in 1996 but did not pass the standard exam required to graduate. She eventually got a GED and went to college. She decided to complete the required test and walk at graduation to have a diploma like her oldest son.
